Columbus Pride Bands Code of Conduct

The Columbus Pride Bands is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 2003. Membership is comprised entirely of volunteers. Our mission is to create quality musical and social experiences for our members and community through a variety of performances. We promote a safe, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies while cultivating the joy of music, friendship, and personal growth. Participation in the organization's programs is subject to the observance of its Code of Regulations, Code of Conduct, and any other rules and procedures that may be established ad hoc.

The activities outlined below are strictly prohibited. Any participant, board member, or volunteer that violates this Code is subject to discipline, up to and including dismissal from an event and/or revocation of band membership.

     ● Abusive language, discourtesy, or rudeness toward a director, member, volunteer or other participant

     ● Verbal, physical or visual harassment of a director, member, volunteer or other participant

     ● Actual or threatened violence toward any individual or group 

     ● Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any participant

     ● Possession or use of illegal substances during a band-related event

     ● Reporting to a band performance, rehearsal, or other band-organized public event while under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances to an extent that could jeopardize the safety of self or others or that may harm the reputation of the band 

     ● Bringing onto rehearsal or performance locations any unauthorized, dangerous materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons or other similar items

     ● Any conduct endangering the life, safety, health or well-being of others

     ● Refusal to sign liability waivers or any other forms deemed necessary by the organization's leadership

     ● Any other activities prohibited by the organization's leadership and which is published to the membership in writing in any form, including posting on the organization's website
